President: Oona Marti
oona.marti (at) gmail.com

Oona is the Vice President of Development and Membership at The Commonwealth Club, the nation’s oldest and largest public affairs forum. In this role, she oversees the development, membership, travel and guest services departments, ensuring an integrated experience for Club constituents. Oona is an active volunteer, and in addition to serving as Class President, she has served as a Class Alumnae Fund volunteer for the past eight years, directly soliciting classmates on behalf of the college. She has been a Court Appointed Special Advocate for a child in the San Francisco foster care system for the past five and a half years, and has just joined the 2010 class of Leadership San Francisco, a networking and leadership group in San Francisco. She is a self-proclaimed foodie, and loves eating in the thousands of amazing restaurants in the Bay Area with her partner and extended family.

Co-Vice President : Alyssa Dion
dionalyssa (at) gmail.com

After spending six years living and working at ski areas specializing in group travel, marketing and events, Alyssa is now residing in Saratoga Springs, NY and working as the Director of Sales for Saratoga Gaming and Raceway.  She’s still planning events for a living – just with a different theme. In her free time she works as the Chair of the local Girls Inc. volunteer board and spends as much time as possible snowboarding at Sugarbush Resort and traveling as far as the budget will take her. Together as co-VP’s Alyssa and Jess Mele are tasked with organizing a fabulous 10-year reunion.  The best part of their job? The people!  We need volunteers to help make it extraordinary – email us today to learn more!

Co-Vice President: Jess Mele
jessica.mele (at) gmail.com

After working for 4 years in Boston, Jess finished her Master’s Degree in Education and headed west. Now she’s putting it all together as an Arts Education Administrator in San Francisco.  She misses the East Coast Smithies a lot, but found a new gang in the Bay Area. Despite all the life transition, the only thing that hasn’t changed for her in the last year is the connection she has with Smithies new and old. It doesn’t matter who they are or how they met – every time she meets a Smithie, she’s found a good friend (or at least a fun, kind of nerdy person).

Co-Secretary: Jessica Heinzelman
jheinzelman (at) gmail.com

Jessica Heinzelman  left her home in San Francisco and her life as a high-flying political consultant to travel the world. She is currently working on a masters in international affairs at the Fletcher School at Tufts University where she hopes to transition her strategy and grassroots organizing skills into peacebuildings and integrate new technologies.  Somethings remain constant, like her love of singing Bette Midler classics at karaoke (a passion born during spring break ’01).

Co-Secretary: Dania Frank
dania.frank (at) gmail.com

After graduating Smith with a degree in Economics, Dania went on to receive her Masters in Economics from Harvard University and went on to work as Community Relations Manager for the San Francisco Bay Area for Enterprise Rent-A-Car.  Dania V. Frank is currently working towards her Ph.D. in Public Policy at Duke University.  Dania lives with her Shih-Tzu puppy named Bailey and is trying very hard to fight the urge to become one of those people who refers to her pet as her child.  At Smith she lived in Gardiner House.

Treasurer: Lisa Burke
yardbyrdster (at) gmail.com

Lisa has been living in Washington DC for about a year and its starting to feel like home.  She works at Georgetown University as a Grants Analyst helping the faculty submit and manage their grants.  Lisa keeps up with a circle of Smith grads in the DC area and beyond and is roommates with Jen Weedon, Class of 2002. In her free time, Lisa likes to swim, hike, ski, discuss the world over drinks with friends, sew, read and cuddle with her giant cat, Kippy.
