Reunion is right around the corner!!!
Here are some answers to frequently asked questions regarding reunion that came up on the Smith 2001 Facebook page:
Are any moms bringing their kids to the class dinners on Friday & Saturday? my son is 2 1/2 and too young for childcare..
I called Smith today to ask what alums in my situation usually do and they reassured me that kids of all ages are definitely welcome at the class dinners. In fact, the woman I spoke to said kids my son’s age don’t even have to pay for a meal, assuming that he will mostly eat off my plate anyway. There are kids meals available for purchase for $10, but she said those are more for kids ages 5-10.
hello! I am slightly confused about the $25 subsidy for Friday and Saturday night dinners for our class and the dinners on registration. Do we buy the dinners listed on registration? $21 for Friday and $21.50 for Saturday? or are our dinners completely different?
You buy the dinners on the registration- we have already subsidized them. (In other words, those dinners would have cost $46 and $46.50 had we not subsidized)…
What is the attire for the class dinner?
I think the equivalent of business casual is appropriate for the dinners (i’m planning on dresses/skirts and my partner is wearing slacks and a button-up, to give you a sense).
What should I wear for the Alumnae Parade on Ivy Day?
Here’s what the AASC has to say:
“We ask that all alumnae wear a white outfit, white shoes or tennis shoes, and their
nametag and class ribbon. For those alumnae who didn’t get a ribbon at the Alumnae
House when they registered, ribbons will be available at the parade assembly area (or
in the ITT lobby if held indoors). Please note that class ribbons should be worn right
shoulder to left hip. To enhance the visual image of the parade, we ask that any
carryalls or totebags be white. Two or three classmates, in outfits representing your
class’s era at Smith, may march at the head of the class group directly behind the Class
President or other officer who is carrying the brass standard. Classes that have
provided their own class t-shirt, hat, bag, fanny pack, sunglasses, etc., are encouraged
to wear the items as part of their parade costume.”
